Has anyone removed needle seat from carburetor main body? Have new ones in kit from Rimmers but this is not covered in Repair Operations manual. If anyone has completed this task I would appreciate advice and guidance. Steve

hi, do you mean the metering needle, the one that sits under the damper, cheers roger

Yes Roger that is the needle I refer to. The seat for needle is the issue

carburettor main jet . I assume you mean
pressed into the main body of the carb
to remove drift out from dashpot side with suitable drift
to replace you need a special tool home made to fit over the extension tube and drift back in
helps to freeze it for a couple of hours first
it is recessed 2.48mm from the carb bridge

hi steve, what is the problem, mine was losing oil from the pot, replaced the small rubber 'o' rings in the needle and all done, it take a bit of time but it may well be better to explain over the phone. PM with your number and i'll ring you if needed, cheers roger

Roger. Not really a problem but the car I acquired had been standing for 5 years so I am doing a refurb in readiness for a road trip around Europe in June. One of the tasks was to refurbish the carburetors!!!!!
