    Job times

Is there a list of factory approved times for various jobs on the Stag?
I'm having my clutch replaced next week and I'd like some idea of labour involved to calculate reasonable cost.
    Thanks
    Steve

    Yes, there is Steve.

I'm out at the moment but when I get home I'll try to reply properly.

    Cheers

Oh yes, that used to be our bible in the workshops.

Glad Pete sorted you out Steve - that should do the trick, although bear in mind, as you know, the figures in there are for a new car with no seized bolts etc etc.

          Cheers

Like 3.25 hours to replace a head gasket, or 5.30 hours to do both! Yeah, right.......

Or how about 55min to swap out a gauge; how many cups of tea does that include?

I'm sure you could do it in that time Dave Don't forget, those are 'decimal' times, so that's 3 hours 15 mins, not 25 mins

Joking apart, that's all we used to get when we did them under warranty but at least getting the heads off wasn't a problem back then.

                Cheers

In fairness Nick that was the time for a mechanic to go and get the car, drive it into the workshop, remove the gauge, go to the parts department for a new unit, fit it and park the car up again. Also, as mentioned in the reply to Dave's post, it was 'decimal' time, so .55 meant 33 minutes. Not too much time left for tea

Bit surprised to see a time for an 'oil gauge illumination bulb'

                  Cheers

I know I can beat 4.5 hours to replace the timing chains. I've done it so often lately
