    Mystery wheel!!!

We have bought a trailer to tow with our Stag for camping trips but we need to replace the spare wheel. It's pretty old but we can't find out what it's come off. It's 13" diameter with 4" pcd wheel studs.

    Can anyone identify this wheel?

Looks like an Appliance wheel to me, we're very popular with customisers in the 70s. Think you could get them to fit most stud arrangements and they are still sought after. Can't help with the figment though Im afraid

Wow I am amazed that you know that. I have just googled 'Appliance wheels' & that is exactly what it is. There is a set of four similar to them for sale on eBay starting bid £600. Seems we have bought a trailer with quite rare & expensive wheels. I'm not sure it is going to be possible to purchase an exact replacement, we might have to find something else that will fit. Thanks Dave.

Was into customised cars in the 70s although I could only afford an old escort when I passed my test and Appliance wheels were well out of my price range, they were very popular wheels. They will look nice polished up or painted.

Looks like an opportunity to buy some cheap 13" steel wheels (4" PCD readily available) and some wheel trims, then sell the Appliance wheels for some beer tokens.....

Appliance wheels are making a big come back - they are very much in vogue again with Custom's again
i would be tempted to get a ford wheel and try that on the trailer as i reckon it could be a ford 4 stud PCD you have

we tried a ford wheel and the pcd is ok, but the wheel offset is way out and the inside edge of the wheel fouls on the trailer chassis.

Hi Andy. Just had a tyre fitted to the wheel you sent me. Looks a bit better now. You can still see the big ding near the top of the picture, but most of the rest have been removed. It is now in the boot as a spare.

Thanks ken but the offset is too different, a spacer would have to be 2" wide!
