our first "official" article in the club magazine

Let me introduce myself, my name is Graham and if you want to know anything about me or my connections to the SOC, then my forum username is grahamb. If you log-in you should get an idea what I have been up to for the last few months, though I don’t promise anything interesting!

Hopefully most of you have heard of “the forum”? If not, I am referring to the SOC forum located on the internet, rather than that niche magazine that some of you may be aware of…

The forum can be found from the SOC home page in the members section or at http://stagownersclub.mywowbb.com/

You need to register to post a message, which is reasonably self explanatory or you can contact me on stagforum@anvuk.com Email me the problem or your phone number if you need any assistance in setting this up and I will see what can be done to help you.

Why should you join the forum? Well in the months ahead I will make sure you know what is going on there. Within reason you can say what you like and you WILL get fairly instant feedback – good and bad - to what you have to say.

Subjects covered on the forum this month include:

    Fuel injection discussion

Why are heads made of ally?

Enjoy a Stag burble in a long tunnel on Youtube

SOC Membership fee - is it worth it?

    Windsor Car Show - September

Goodwood Breakfast Club - were you there?

    Kylie - one member's fixation!

and... of course on-line For Sale Wanted and Swap. Put your ad on-line at no cost for immediate responses

Finally, 20 minutes ago, I put a post on the forum looking for quotes for this article.

In 20 minutes we have had:

“Does that mean we will have to wait on the magazine to discover what is happening on the forum?”

“When is Green not really Green? When it's Java

And the one that sums up the banter that can be had – “you could mention, gimp suits, orange cars, dogging and Kylie - that should get the mag readers logging on.”

There is a lot of humour around these comments and seeing the mention of gimp suits, dogging and Kylie fixations, perhaps the link with a niche publication is not as remote as I first thought.

I hope to see you on the forum soon

    Graham

it looks good to me. Very generous to give out an offer to help by email - only about 4000 members left to sign up, you could be busy.

Incidentally, if anyone is wondering where on earth this running 'Gimp' fixation floating around the Forum cam from, it is all my fault ...

...I had a PM from Russ (Kryten) about photo editing software and I suggested the very good and free editing program called "The Gimp". This was then brought up in conversation at the SE London N&N a couple of months ago and the conversation has been going downhill from that point onwards.

I seem to recal Russ having a problem with electric shocks and some form of insulating suit being the answer....

You could have a new strapline Graham:

When is a camping trailer not a camping trailer?

When it's a Java Green camping trailer!

the wife is making me respray the trailer the same colour as the Stag...

                          This is no joke!

This is after basecoat today, and when I've flatted it I'll give it a couple of lacquer coats - probably tomorrow, then polish and refit the wheel spats......

Then, apparently, after fitting the towbar - also tomorrow I'm told, I have to hitch it up, align the whole rig using a drop-plate if neccessary, and continue the Stag's coachline down the trailer at the correct height.....

The things we do to please SWMBO....

strange shape for a 'tin of peas' - also it's the only trailer i've seen smaller than a BBQ.
