Stag Voted 47th in Autocar Top 100 British Car Poll....

But what is going on with the car voted no 5, have I missed something?

Your votes are in and the list has been compiled – Britain's best-ever car is the original Mini

    Cheers

Their preamble explains what they have deemed 'British'.

The 5th placed Yamaha is basically the creation of Gordon Murray - the thoroughly decent Brit who designed the McLaren F1 and who went on to design his own city car and the whole production process behind it - which has subsequently become the Yamaha.

Mind you, I'm only explaining their logic - don't shoot the messenger

      Cheers

      Julian

How could anyone vote for a Rover 75, esp putting if in front of a Stag!

You could take that vote a hundred times and get a hundred different results.... meaningless

I have to disagree. The Rover 75 was an excellent car. My dad has a low mileage 2003 model and its Jaguar class at Rover money. It has a large following. Of course it will come ahead of the stag in a present day Poll as far more people have been in a 75 than a Stag.

I know what you mean, but can't agree with your logic. Have more people been in an Aston Martin One-77 or a Mclaren F1 than a Stag?

Notice that Triumph have 5 models listed, same as Aston Martin, but don't get a mention in the article

Subjective opinon of course and apologies to anyone who has one of these, but I would give more room on my drive to a pile of house bricks than one of these.
