I have a pair of Toyo 330s on mine they are good - they are the correct size so the speedo reads correct, and also not van tyres. They are T rated but I have cleared that before with insurers. http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/...185-80-14.html £46.40 each . The others are Nankangs also seem OK.
Whilst talking about tyres I thought I would post this picture of a caravan tyre that is only five years old and has plenty of tread left. There was no side wall damage and the wheels are removed every winter and stored in a dry garage / store.
This tyre let go at just fifty miles an hour and fortunately apart from some cosmetic damage to the wheel arch of the caravan there was no other damage.
I know there are people out there who are ok buying and using used tyres that are old and have unknown hidden damage just think this 14" tyre could have been on your Stag at seventy or higher miles per hour

We had a very similar problem with our horsebox which was bought from new - the tyres started to go at 5 years old and the first one in very similar circumstances to yours when we had 1 ton of horses on board! fortunately it's a 4 wheel trailer so the other on that side took up the weight for long enough for us to realise there was a problem or it could have been very unpleasant.
We've now replaced all the tyres with new ones but it seems impossible to get a recognized make in the size, so we've made do with what we could get 5 of (including a spare).
Just to be clear this tyre isnt mine.
It was on a caravan of a friend of mine and the tyre let go last week whilst he and his wife were on the way back home from holiday. He uses a Jeep ("Cherokee" I think) as his towing vehicle and when the tyre let go the Jeep never moved off line and the towing hitch braking / anti sway system controlled the caravan.
On a normal car there is ver little to help you if a tyre lets go and on many trailers there isnt the modern style anti sway type hitch so we rely on the tyres to stay in one piece so much more.
Stay safe!!
Just bought 5 avons from blackcircle.com for £280 good choice great service well happy cheers Ian
Hmmmm, my parental jacketed browser declines to go there ;-( saying it's a porno site but tacking an 'S' onto the address gives Mummy no reason to get angry or concerned :-)
