I'm amazed by the proportion that still have the TV8 engine [3,200 licensed] as against only 157 Rover V8 engined on the road; I thought there was a much higher proportion of alternative engined Stags.
I read on this forum a while back, about a diesel Stag, if my memory is correct it had a Sierra diesel engine and it is his daily driver.
Dave.
Yea remember a diesel Stag turning up at Lincs National Weekend. It was painted in silver Hammerite but hats off to the guy who modded it. Wonder if it's still around?

I agree. Surely that can't be right. Maybe a lot of those who change the engine don't notify DVLA for whatever reason.

i remember seeing that stag,it was a few years ago now
The diesel stag was definitely at the 2006 national day. It was owned by a certain Steve Mellor of Chesterfield. As the then Modified Stag Co-ord I wrote a somewhat tongue-in-cheek article about the 'virtues' of a Ford Sierra diesel engine in the Stag. I don't think many people followed that car up. However, I wish some folk had followed up my last comment 'What about a 200bhp V6 ex-Jag engine in a Stag?' That would have been more interesting.
