    Diesel Stags ?

Are there really some diesel stags knocking around ?

And some with over 5 1/2 litres ?

Hmm, I know which i'd prefer.

      And BTW,

The licensed 'other' is probably mine.

I'm amazed by the proportion that still have the TV8 engine [3,200 licensed] as against only 157 Rover V8 engined on the road; I thought there was a much higher proportion of alternative engined Stags.
I read on this forum a while back, about a diesel Stag, if my memory is correct it had a Sierra diesel engine and it is his daily driver.

Yea remember a diesel Stag turning up at Lincs National Weekend. It was painted in silver Hammerite but hats off to the guy who modded it. Wonder if it's still around?

I agree. Surely that can't be right. Maybe a lot of those who change the engine don't notify DVLA for whatever reason.

The VW 1.9 TDi in my daily drive Audi sounds right in it - it's a boring but perfectly useful and dependable car.

In a Stag - only for a joke.

Still I'd like to see it - but I fear I'd laugh.

                              Hi guys,

The diesel stag was definitely at the 2006 national day. It was owned by a certain Steve Mellor of Chesterfield. As the then Modified Stag Co-ord I wrote a somewhat tongue-in-cheek article about the 'virtues' of a Ford Sierra diesel engine in the Stag. I don't think many people followed that car up. However, I wish some folk had followed up my last comment 'What about a 200bhp V6 ex-Jag engine in a Stag?' That would have been more interesting.

                              FWIW
