    Wheel refurb

My original wheels aren't bad but I've seen wheels advertised which are described as chrome finish.

Also, I have read threads from Edd and Drew with photos of perfectly finished wheels.

I don't have the patience or inclination to strip my wheels, rub them down with wire wool and Autosol them.

Can anyone please recommend specialist company in the Midland area to polish my wheels up?

    Thanks in advance

    Steve

they will want nearly as much to do it that it would cost for a new set

But then your valves would be in the wrong place

On Page 90 of the latest (June 2014) Practical Classics it says that Moss Europe have new MGB LE alloy wheels for sale at £99.95. Same pattern as the a Stag ones, but in grey with a MG badge in the centre. They have the valve in the right place.

Need to check the wheel nut spec... they look different from the Stag

You could be right Neil. If you check the wheels on the Moss-Europe website there is a link (Instructions) to Supplemental Instructions: http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/graphic...on-bhh2451.pdf

The centre "cap" sticks out further than the Triumph alloy, but they could be an option if someone is desperate for new 'Stag' alloys and the usual suppliers are out of stock.

Just checked and their wheel nuts are £8.95 EACH! I thought ours were pricey at £4.35 +VAT (JP)

I believe the offset is less on the MG wheel

I recently had mine refurbished by THe Polished Wheel Company in Cornwall - they were back with me within a week and look absolutely fantastic..Check out their website and the picture of a Stag wheel..
http://www.thepolishedwheelcompany.com/triumph.html. As for prices obviously less than a new wheel but they will quote you over the phone..

I don't think that is hte case any more. I bought a set a couple of years ago that had the valves in the correct position. The laquer is showing signs of distrass though. On the plus side, they are machined true so no issues with balancing that you get on some of the originals.

                    Regards

In which case I stand corrected; never did understand why they'd make 'em like that!
