    Stupid idiot needs help

Some stupid idiot has only gone and locked his keys in the boot hasn't he?

Fortunately said idiot has a spare ignition key.

Anyone out there got any bright ideas as to how the stupid idiot can retrieve his keys?

    Thanks

If you have a Mk 2 take the number plare lights out, and with a bit of stiff wire, fish around and locate the lock. You should, with judicious wiggle ing be able to pop the boot.
Failing that oxy accetoline, plastic explosive, a delinquent youth or pick the lock.
If all fails call the AA

I am contemplating an extremely stiff piece of wire aka scaffold pole.

      Thanks very much.

It worked for me. A wire coat hanger or welding rod are good.
        Hope you get it open.

IMG_0379.jpgIMG_0378.jpgHi Richard, The PO fitted a electric boot lock to mine so it now has a cover plate where the original lock was he gave me this piece of bent thick wire in case the lock failed so I have to remove the plate and you can spring the lock with the wire. It happened once and it did work. so if you can remove the barrel section from the outside I don't see why it would not work for you. Hopes this helps Cheers Graham

Sometimes on cars of this age the locks are a bit worn.If you have a similar key of the same shape it can work by pushing it in a bit at a time and wiggle as you do so..

I carry very little in the boot most of the time, but I do play golf a lot and a full set of clubs, etc costs well over a grand.......

I think that you should be able to remove the two posi screws that hold the boot lock on, you can than access the rod that actuates the catch.
