    Polybushes on rear subframe

    Asked before by many I expect but has anyone fitted poly bushes (from Chris Witor/Robsport or others) to the outer rear subframe and had any vibration/negative issues as a result?

    I've noticed today my RH one has collapsed and I really don't feel happy about paying for more rubber ones knowing the quality that is out there - admittedly mine a a few years old now but not certain the newer rubber ones will last.

    Grateful for thoughts as I believe this may cure my vibrations which after a 100 mile round trip came back again today, I've realised now the car sags after a while having been jacked up and this just might be the culprit..

    Cheers!

    I will be changing mine to poly as soon as possible. Hopefully it will cure my vibrations which occur at higher road speeds

      I put polybush on my rear sub frame and its absolutely fine, no vibrations. back end feels much better. I spoke to Tony Hart about doing sub frame bush and he recommended using poly.

          I renewed all the front and rear bushes with the Witor blue poly ones over the winter and am very happy with the result. No vibrations and the car does feel tighter.

            I had been told to chance all bushes to poly except rear subframe which should be kept rubber.
            I have used poly subframe as well as I don't want poor quality rubber ones failing. As I haven't yet driven car I can't pass comment yet.

            I have reused my original engine mount rubbers, as I think these will outlast new ones. I wonder if engine mounts could be made in poly too, to avoid having to use the new engine mounts in rubber which only seem to last a few years?

                Thanks for all the replies, if Tony recommends it that's the way to go. All my other bushes have been poly for some years and no problems, just these two so I will now get some.

                  Mike, I have poly bushes on the rear sub frame for quite some time and all is well. Have you had a clear out of your barn and left all the rubbish up near the M25? I passed by there today, it's certainly a big heap.

                    Hi Rod,

                    good news about the bushes, I ordered a set from Robsport today so will get fitted soon I hope;

                    Hmm, the rubbish.....that is most likely the pikey's (traveller's to the pc lot) or dare I say some unscrupulous builders who arrive at night to dispense their load.

                    Hopefully once we have some common sense drilled into politics by Nige' people like this will simply be eliminated - How dare they ruin our beautiful countryside!

                      I re bushed my car with poly some years ago and then removed them and replaced with rubber as I did not like the harshness, however since then we have all become used to much harder riding cars (and I don't just mean Audis ) so I am contemplating putting the poly back again ( I kept them ) I also bought a very expensive set of spachs dampers and hated the ride removing the fronts and replacing them with standard but I kept the rears, I cannot replace the dampers at the front as I sold them to someone who loved them, proving that I am a Yorkshireman and tight as a drum also that there is no accounting for taste.
                      Standard stag thrashed and enjoyed, Nissan Murano ( very underrated, very thirsty, very fast)

                        I fitted poly bushes all round in stages aside from the front drag struts, after changing the main rear subframe bushes I find the ride is harsh, if I have any work to do in this area in future I will change back to rubber. Although I believe there are various grades of polyurethane bushes, maybe someone can enlighten us?
