    Selling my Stag

Hi all, I think over the weekend I have made the decision to sell my Stag. I have spent over 20 years "doing it up" and now, having spent the last year driving it around, and in the process clocking up around 1000 miles, I really don't think it is the car for me! It seems to me that I have taken more to the mod cons of modern vehicles and the creature comforts and extravagances that they provide. I know that most of you will baulk at my comments, but it really is how I feel, and no matter how much I drive the Stag I always feel the same.
Anyway, having taken the decision I now find myself wondering where is the best place to sell the beast?
I believe that EBay may perhaps generate the best overall price, but I am sure it could also present the most amount of problems. With not knowing the cars true value, perhaps eBay will ensure that it finds it's true level, and I can always "give it a try" by putting on a reserve that will protect me a little. Then of course I could put it on here or maybe on Autotrader or Piston heads, but at what value (that's a bit of rhetoric) I know how much I have invested in it, but we all have that millstone round our necks.
Does anyone on here have a rough idea of what the costs would be to sell on the above platforms?
What do you think Guys? Please try and be gentle with me.

Thanks for reading, and as always, thanks for any replies.

    Hi Paul

You could sell it on the fourm in the for sale section as for price maybe you could get a club valuation for insurance perposes and go from there .

Sorry that you are selling your Stag after such a long relationship with it.

I think that there are two websites that you should consider selling your car on.

This is one http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/ where you can advertise for free

The other is http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...xperiment=true where you have to pay.

The advantage of both is that they tend to appeal to the enthusiasts rather than Ebay where there are too many clowns who will muck you about.

You must have some idea as to how much you value your car, but if you look at similar ones for sale, that may also give you some idea.

      Good luck with the sale.
Bereft of a Triumph of any description.

Always look to see what other cars are selling for right now...(I mean what they are selling for rather than what is being asked for them you can Check the completed auctions section of ebay) if you want a quick sell yours has to be better or cheaper. If you can hang on to it for a better price then price can be set at a level that the rest of them are at that also reflects what you want for it and the condition its in.

By the way I know just how you feel re the modern car thing... I am not driving the Stag this week because I drove the BMW for the first time in a couple of weeks the other day and now I love it again too!
