Colour Please

Hi

I have just purchased a 1974 Stag. Its original colour was purple but has had a respray.

Does anyone know the Red this is please.

Doesn't look orange (Pimento) in photo. Very hard to tell as it maybe a non Triumph colour.

Best way is to take it to a paintshop who can electronically match it, and welcome to the nuthouse.

Just had mine electronically matched at local Ford dealer (son worked there). Sienna is on commission plate, but car is now red.

I didn't get an official name for the colour as they didn't have Triumph colours in their database; just the details of how to mix the paint.

I think mine might be Signal Red --- if the PO went with a triumph colour. Yours looks darker.

Hi Derek,

Just coming back to the original question - mine started life as British Racing Green and has been resprayed British Racing Green. However it is a slightly different shade (and I've had to give up the search for exactly what shade it is) and so, when I was having my hardtop painted, my local bodyshop matched the colour to the actual colour of my car.

So, as others have said, I'd recommend getting someone to match the colour to your car and don't worry about trying to find exactly what it is called - if anything. Plenty of people respray Stags non-Triumph colours.

When in editing mode select Go Advanced. Double click on the photo and you should get a new window with various options. There will be a selection of options relating to 'size'. One is 'Full Size' (I think). Select that and save. The picture will then appear much bigger.
