Some latest news on SOCTFL Panel Production

SOCTFL would like to advise Triumph Stag owners, retailers, and restorers that Envisage Manufacturing, which is a trading division of Envisage Group Limited, has apparently taken the decision to cease manufacture of body panels for the Stag and other classic vehicles. Whilst Envisage has not formally advised SOCTFL of this decision nor given advance warning it appears to be effective as of the end of May 2014.

The tooling that has been funded by SOCTFL, together with other Stag tooling, has been retrieved from Envisage Manufacturing's premises and is being stored at a safe location. SOCTFL's priority over coming weeks will be to look for means to re-establish production of panels. However this will inevitably take some time owing to technical issues such as finding suitable means of production and commercial issues such as cost and delivery.

The SOCTFL team would like to assure everyone with an interest in the continued availability of high quality panels for the Triumph Stag that everything possible is being done to resume production with alternative manufacturers. The SOCTFL panels affected are listed below: -

    L/H Door Skins
    R/H Door Skins
    L/H Rear Arch Inner

    L/H Front Arch Inner

Scary times! The work that goes on behind the scenes at this club by volunteers is amazing.
For a group of volunteers to prevent what would, in any other car club, be the end of the line for many of these parts is truly remarkable. I trust a suitable manufacturer is found quickly so that people who are in the middle of their projects can continue!

Thanks for the kind comments chaps - we should all thank Mike Fisher, Rod Scholey, Tony Lapworth, and Tony's son (from the SOC) + Darren Welsh and his team of two (from Creative Classics) + Alan Holden (from Envisage) for physically moving the tooling.

Yep, thanks from me too and especially for communicating about it early which I think is the best thing to avoid the rumour mill starting up

                  Cheers

                      Bad news but as has been said, we've still got the tooling so the most difficult aspect is still 'alive' - well done Philip and all;
May have been asked before but do we know who produces panels for the MGOC?

                      Cheers
                      Mike

Sincere thanks to everyone involved in this rearguard action; without your timely interventions the tooling could so easily have been lost.

Best wishes in the search for a new manufacturer.

                        Respectfully,

                        TBO.

Probably one or more of the small pool of known suppliers in the classic panels market, but it would be worth us asking the MGOC if the SOCTFL team don't already know (similarly for other clubs).

Has anyone warned other clubs who may have been using the same producer? If not, doing so might help them save their tooling too.

And well done team for moving so quickly and effectively.

                            Regards

Thanks for keeping us informed about this. I have used quite a few SOCTFL panels over the last year or two, and will probably need more before long!
