    seat belts

Just had the 2nd mot advisory on my seat belts-webbing frayed- next time ?? was just wondering if anyone had fitted ones from a modern in theirs if so what sort of job was it and what out of? So called originals seem to be scarce/expensive and good 2nd hand ones even harder to find.
    cheers Rob.

Here are three companies that refurb belts:

Seat belt repairs, fitting and refurbishing from the UKs oldest seat belt manufacturer.

Safety Belt Services UK are specialists in the design and manufacture of seat belts, seat belt repair, seat belt restoration seat belt height adjusters, seat belt extenders and wheelchair harnesses. SBS can fix your broken seat belts, MOT seat belt repairs, dog chewed seat belts and much more.

Haven't got around to getting mine refurbed yet, but talked to all three companies on the 'phone and they seem to know their stuff.
    The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137

Mine are the current Securon type. They don't fit the Britax type centre latch in the centre console so you end up with two stalks sticking through instead of the neat and tidy original...

I bought these. They come with all the necessary hardware but as I said they don't fit nice and tidy like the originals

I have the securon ones in my Stag. They seem very tight to me and pretty uncomfortable. Unlike my modern. Robsport I think do original type.

They are quite awkward to use. They are also a bit far forward but at the price of nearly £150 for Britax ones I can live with these for now. They will be better than my forty year old Britax ones!

I removed the Securon aftermarket ones from the front of mine as they didn't hang on the b-post hooks and had uncomfortable stalks on the tunnel. Fitted OE type from Paddocks and I'm much happier with them.

I'm with DJT, I did the same. I know OE is more expensive, but well worth the extra, hang better, as the bishop said to the actress, and more comfortable.
