    Clicking Fuel Pump

    Hi again

More advice needed...I'm still trying to find my way around my first vintage stag.

My fuel pump in the boot makes a loud clicking noise when running, not constantly, but pretty often.its quite loud and very distracting...is this what old fuel pumps do...I can't hear my modern pump at all on my newish BMW 5 series!???,

It seems most obvious and pronounced when turning corners but it does it on the straight too. It's looks in pretty good shape and is definitely a replacement pump and not the original....should I expect to hear these kind of noises??.

    Thanks for any advice
    Alex

    Hi
Clicking is good, because it means it is working. What make of pump is it, if it is replacement?
Some can be noisy, read this http://www.stag.org.uk/forum/showthr...ighlight=Facet

Or maybe the mounting have perished and the pump is touching he body?

Clicking is normal, some more noisy than others.

I often wonder why no manufacurer marked their fuel gauge in £'s, but if they did, no-one would buy the cars and inflation would require too many changes of the gauge
