Finally got around to wrapping my refurbished alloys in new rubber. Nangkang 185/80R14T car tyres. £40 + VAT each all fitted. All being well, including the weather, they will get a good run to Brooklands on Sunday.

I likewise decided to plump for a new set which I duly ordered via Tyreleader last week; a set of Vredestein 195/70 x 14 to replace my 9 year old Corsa's (which look absolutely fine but...)
So - placed the order using the Mastercard and chose to have them shipped to one of their listed fitters only 3 miles from me - simples..
Today I get confirmation from the shippers DPD they had successfully delivered my tyres and they had been signed for b Mr Gray; I then phone the tyre fitters to be told that (a) they haven't had the tyres delivered and (b) they don't have a Mr Gray!
I then check all the name and address details with him to find the postcode to be wrong by 2 letters (now bear in mind these details were automatically completed direct from the Tyreleader website) - he is of course amazed and has no idea how Tyreleader have got his code wrong and I am annoyed because DPD have dumped my tyres on someone who clearly should not have signed for them!
The chap at the fitters said he would go out armed with the incorrect postcode and his satnav to see if he could find where they had gone bad sadly he discovered a housing estate and of course he had no house number to locate with.
So now I've had to start a complaint with Tyreleader to get my money back for the tyres I haven't received, frankly I don't want to deal with them now anyway after this farce but just wondering if anyone else has had any experiences with them..?
(It still won't make me use KwikFit though!)

That's bad news Mike. I've never bought tyres on line; I've used the samereliable local supplier for years. He always beats any internet price as well as providing a good service. When I needed a set of new 225/45ZR17 tyres for my Eurobox earlier this year I shopped around all the usual suspects as well as the internet mail order outlets and he was way lower than all of them for quality tyres.

Incidentally Dave, I had a set of Nankang 205/70 x 14 before the Corsa's - they were good tyres very cheap too.
I often wonder at the value in paying more for good branded tyres when realistically the main difference is only considered in their wet performance, in the dry there is little difference between the cheap and expensive.
As most Stags don't do wet....

Mike,
I've had Nankangs on my Stags before. In fact I have just scrapped two 185/80HR14 tyres which weren't worn out by any means, but were rather old - made before tyre date marking became the norm.. I have kept one excellent Nankang 185/80HR14 and had it fitted to my spare wheel. The manager inspected it thoroughly first and deemed it fit for this purpose.
The new ones are rated 'B' for wet weather use and 72bD for noise, but only 'E' for fuel. Yes, they are only T-rated, but this is acceptable to me and my insurance company.

This is DPD though Andrew and there seems to be no logic at all to where they did deliver them.
the actual address if the business they should have gone to was perfectly clear but they chose to pick a random address based around the incorrect postcode.
you never know though, if TL think it's going to cost them they may go the extra mile I trying to locate.
Cheers!Mike

Hi Steve,
Mastercard thank God, I spoke with them yesterday and they said as described it is clearly a case for a "charge back" from TL as they haven't supplied the tyres - whatever the reasons they are not of my creation.
I'm still having a running battle with TL though and they are getting even more obstructive - their latest demand is I get a document signed by both me and the fitters to say neither of us have received the tyres and it has to be in pdf format!
I've never heard such boll*cks!
Avoid at all costs - cheap means problems!

Well that's good news Mike. Tell TL to go and whistle and get that chargeback on the go.
My recommendation is mytyres.co.uk but I guess all similar firms are only as good as their chosen Courier, IF they give them the correct address, and not that of Mr Grey that is....
