    Any alarm/imobiliser recommendations?

My alarm has packed up. I have to drive along sounding like an ambulance. I am sure it needs replacing. Has anyone any recommendations for a new alarm/ imobiliser that complies with the club insurance requirements?

I forget what immobiliser I had fitted about 10 years ago but if doing the same now I'd consider GPS type tracking device instead.

They're usually motion activated and will text or email, so you can then choose to disable the car remotely or track it's moving location and advise the police. This doesn't stop the car being taken but seems you're more likely to get a successful recovery.

Perhaps also fit a simple battery disconnect to prevent the casual thief

I have a "Capsonic" alarm that was fitted just after I bought the car 20 years ago so don't know if they still make them.
Stopped using it though when moved to Tenerife, it works on changes to the electrical current - such as someone opening the door.

Cars of our vintage already have an effective immobiiser. Its called a choke and will obviously foil your average joy rider
