Dear ALL,
Following a long layoff due to illness I have started to rebuild the engine and sent it off to the machine shop
but due to confusion of left and right !! they have machined off 0.015 off the right block face and taken the head to 4.375
but the valves are just below the head face so believe with either a shim saver and a thick gasket will be ok as using
+40 county pistons
but the left block is left un touched and the head is 4.4 so there is 40 thou difference if I use the same gaskets and no shim saver
and 20 thou with a standard gasket one side and thick on the other will this really affect the running to much Iam after a reliable rather than performance engine
