Not too shabby for a 40 year old car eh ! had to be careful taking the picture on me phone though as nearly dropped me shaver into me bowl of cornflakes on me knee Peter IMAG0517.jpg
Mine has also seen the high side of the three digit number.. but on the slow down it nearly rattled my teeth out.... must get that propshaft balanced me thinks!
This was taken on the way to Brooklands (hence the glare from the early morning sun). Still can't get over the big drop in top gear revs with this 'box.....
and of course the photo was taken by your front seat passenger and not distracting you whilst driving ;-)
Fastest my stag has ever been was an indicated 110 in France buzzing a D-Type with an RRW reg on the way to Big Boy LeMans. felt good at speed, the steering was getting lighter, like the front wheels were not really on the road. Rattled a lot as I lifted having accomplished my mission. I carried on at a more sensible 90 something and was buzzed back by the afore mentioned Jaaaag who made it appear as if I were at a standstill such was the speed differential.
the grin remained with me for the entire weekend.
Stags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony
ok,honesty time then ! my speedo may be reading a teensy bit on the high side, actually quite a lot but it was nice to see the needle at 100 though job for the winter maintenance schedule methinks !
