    Giffgaff mobile (non-stag)

Anyone else using Giffgaff mobile provider? I never heard of them until my son told me about them.

I got fed up with Vodafone and just switched to Giffgaff. Seems way less expensive, more transparent and no contract lock in. Just activated my sim and all seems good so far.

I've been on Giffgaff for past 2 years, and I've now put my wifes phone on it too.
Works fine for me, and means no unexpected large bills.
I pay £10 a month, and that covers me for all the calls and texts I need, and enough internet for my iphone, unless using lots of Youtube etc
I also put £10 credit on it to cover anything not covered by monthly charge. [Watch your not dialling a Freephone number or it will soon use your credit]

I've been with them about 3 months, no problems so far. It's on the O2 network.

      Cheers

Just changed to them, last straw was O2's latest pay as you go price hike. Transferred my old number across from O2 as well. Took less than a week from ordering the sim from giff gaff to getting the number across. Just doing the same with my wifes phone, calls between giff gaff phones are free.

Just blown BT out as well - gone Wireless for the internet and VOIP for the phone, saved £5 per month over BT and t'internet is 4 times quicker and as I no longer rely on the overhead copper wire from BT it might work for longer and get fixed quicker if it goes wrong - oh, and the call centre is in the UK.

Next on my hit list is Sky!!

            Wireless for internet...I assume 3G/4G?
Unless with 'Three' isn't that a bit expensive?

No, not 3G/4G as I regard that as Mobile internet. It is in fact WiFi MAX. There is a small (6" diameter) aerial on the side of the house feeding a router (similar to a normal ADSL broadband router) after that everything is the same as wired broadband. £24.99 per month, 24Mbs, 100Gbyte allowance per month (£36.99 for unlimited). Does what it says on the tin so far.

Website here: (they only cover Kent!)

Vfast Internet is one of the UK's fastest growing internet service provider's. Offering ultrafast Wireless broadband, FTTC, FTTH, Digital Voice Line (VoIP) and Talk packages.

I've been using GiffGaff for a couple of years too. No complaints here either, cheap and reliable :-)

Oh I see, never heard of that option before!
I can see it taking over possibly in the future. We have BT infinity which is great, but the last bit to the house is over copper that was laid over 50 years ago. The copper will not last forever and a number of the underground copper cores have failed, and the number left unused is diminishing fast, and when they are all used, BT have a bit problem to replace the cable!

I was on O2/Cellnet for 20 years until I found I was loosing signal in town with 2 transmitters, you only know this if you look at phone, Then they put up prices for existing customers but lowered them for new ones. As Giff Gaff and Tesco mobile run on O2 they aren't much use to me so changed to Virgin Mobile sim only 1 month contract £15 a month unlimited call, txts and Internet, pay extra £2 a month to include 0800. 0870 0845 numbers . And it runs on the EE network so good coverage.
