Try Ring Engineering in Hayes or Serdi UK in Uxbridge. If you want to go further afield Roe Engineering in Fleet. Serdi come highly recommended by a couple of classic restorer people I know. Im not sure they do much engineering stuff any more , as I think they sell machining tools now, but they are worth an ask. Ring Engineering in Springfield road Hayes will be cheaper and they did a good crank grind on my MK2 spitty for me last year.
hi can any one recomend a machine shop to go to, tiring to have a torque convertor machined
thanks for any help dave
Try Andy at http://www.hthoward.co.uk/. I personally know of two stags, a mini and a mk4 Lotus Super Seven that he's machined the blocks, valves, balanced cranks etc. on and done cracking jobs - the most recent stag engine, post tuning (by another guy nearby) still returned 144.7 hp.
No personal association, just familiar with his work.
