    Replacement rocker covers

Still a newbie alas, but am swapping my rusted cam covers for shiny chrome ones found on ebay...

I have taken off the old covers and just want confirmation that the Wells around each cam should be filled with oil? Or is that wrong?! Pic attached... Is this how it is intended to be? 1404289284404.jpg

Please can someone advise... I just don't know!
    Thanks
    Alex

You're OK there Alex, it's when they run dry you have a problem.

Be VERY certain that the filter gauze in the RH cover is clean and doesn't contain shot blast dust. Give it a thorough flush with degreasing solvent or white spirit to make sure. You don't want a bit of bling to ruin a good engine.
