Firsrt registered 14 Feb 1983.....?

I had to ask where it was up until 1983 but DVLC confirms that to be the first registration.

I also have a Stag on a Y plate.It was originally built in 1971 and re-imported back in 1983.

The Ebay Stag was re-imported from the Isle of Man in 1983 hence the Y registration.

If you buy a cherished number from the DVLA you can't make a car look newer than it actually is. If this is the case why are they able to issue a plate from a later year than the car was originally registered?

Maybe it was never initially registered on the mainland? Not sure how IoM registrations work myself.

Maybe it was imported before that rule came into place. I had an ex-MoD LandRover that was civilian registered on an 'L' plate (1972) despite being built in 1965!
