Electrical help required please

Why o why did I touch it !! ?

Took the opportunity to replace the cluster light bulb for the main beam which hasnt worked since I had the car back, that went fine but as I was removing the dash instument panel I noticed that the door lights went out.

It turns out the door lights, footwell lights on both sides, the T bar light and the hazard warning switch now do not work - however the indicators are ok on their own.

Has anyone any ideas as to what all of these run through behind the instrument panel and where I should look first. There are no obvious loose/unconnected wires.

Have you checked the fuses ? It could have blown one . The Interior lights and hazzard are all on a permanent feed .

I think blown fuse. Always disconnect the battery when removing the dash, or any other electrical panel.

Check the fuse connections for corrosion too. I have had things fail due to this in the past.

Thanks all for your advice. Turns out it was the fuse in a roundabout sought of way.

The fuse had blown, I replaced it and it blew again. Then I remembered reconnecting the clock while I had the instrument panel out. The clock didnt work and I had assumed it had something to do with the damage to the front when I had previously hit it with a hammer ! Dont Ask !

Anyway there must be something more wrong with the clock which is why they didnt connect it when the car was rebuilt,as that is what was blowing the fuse.

I assume I cant just put a 35amp house fuse in ! lol Look like its a trip to Halfords tomorrow ....
