    Jerky throttle cure

Having become increasingly dissatisfied with less than smooth acceleration - and deceleration - I cleaned the (Holley) carb, changed the air filter and thought about dismantling the carb. But then I thought why not change the throttle cable. The proprietary Stag make was a slight improvement but being a cyclist and sometimes parsimonious I pedalled down to my local cycle dealer and bought a front brake cable made by Clarks Cables which is plastic lined within the outer cover + a bit of Castrol grease and lo and halleluia - smooth as the proverbial. And it cost only £5. Worth much much more.
Halfords wipers, Turtle wax and shampoo - RV8 and a beautiful Rover 75 ("relax it's a Rover")

Been using a brake cable for 7 years now as original Holley cable broke very shortly after fitting it.
have carried a spare brake cable and replacement Holley cable.

    Cheers Glenn

Being a motorcyclist I treat all my cables by making a little funnel out of that blue sticky plasticine like stuff, squeeze a seal around the top of the outer cable, and then fill the funnel with EP140, and leave overnight for it to drain through and emerge from the other end.
      Cures my jerky cable action.
