Just thinking re replacing the diff, can't remember from the last time I dropped the rear suspension, can the complete diff including the front bearing carrier be removed without dropping the suspension arms etc, I'm thinking not as there would be nothing to hold the subframe in place?

Had the car up in the air today with wheels free to rotate and there is he'll of a lot of movement at the prop CV joint and some movement can be seen at the quill shaft with the car in gear and running. When checking the CV joint for movement by giving it a tug there's also hell of a lot of movement and some movement can be seen at the quill shaft also. So it looks like the CV jointed prop is useless just like the one I had replaced and I need to sort the quill shaft bearing out. Anybody know where I can get a decent manual prop from, LD parts don't list them?
Bazstag has given me a hand today and thanks to him I hope I've identified the problem, we took some video of the prop but I'm not sure how to load it on here.sigpic

hi Dave don't bother with a replacement prop ,get yours rebuilt and correctly balanced by an engineering shop there is on near me who is very good and do all shafts and props even re engineer drive shafts for specials I will try and get there details if you want as they will post /courier they advertise nationwide. replace quill shaft bearing with either skf or rhp bearing and while you have nose off get it reinforced I've got a couple if you need one .this type of vibration causes the diff nose to shear with catastrophic consequences. you wont believe the diff erence when its done lol
Reco-Prop (UK) Ltd these are th guys a few people I know have used them in the past with very good results google themBeautiful early mk1 white tv8 mod? MGB GT and now looking for another V8

I used Reco-prop years ago for my Cobra propshaft - very helpful guys then, and obviously 14 years later, they still are!
Dave, I too put an LD parts reinforced extension housing on mine, good peace of mind. Best quill shaft bearings from Peter there, too.Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.
