    Rev counter

Help! Took the stag for a trip to the seaside yesterday on the way home the rev counter started flicking from 0 revs to 7000 revs yet the engine revs were constant & performance was not affected. Has anyone got any idea what the problem is & how it can be fixed?
    Thanks Graham

Is yours a mk1 or mk2 car? If it is a mk1 has it got electronic ignition? If so that's likely to be the problem. The rev counter in a mk1 doesn't usually work well with electronic ignition. The long term fix is to change the inards to a mk2 and modify the connections.

      HI Graham

If this is indeed the problem, and it's too difficult a change for you, Alan at the Gauge Shop can make this mod for you. He's on here as Stag157.7. I have no connection with him, other than the fact that he did mine.

      Cheers

Yes it's a mk1 with electronic ignition. Don't think I am capable of doing the work myself so I will get in touch with Alan at the Gauge Shop.
        Thanks guys Graham
