    Rover v8 into stag

I have a rover 3.5 engined stag, which is mated (via an adaptor plate) to a man o/d stag gearbox. I have acquired a 3.9engine from a discovery / rangerover, and before I strip and swap everything over I wondered if anyone has fitted a rangerover engine straight into a stag?

I know I need to fit the SD1 sump and block hugger exhaust manifolds, but will the discovery double crank pulley, discovery water pump and passenger side (top) fitted alternator with PAS pump below fit with a stag radiator? My radiator is in the normal position at the top, but the bottom is sat inside the front panel - leaving the rad mounted at an angle.

The existing pulley layout on my rover engined stag is very poor - using just one belt to drive PAS, alternator and waterpump. The alternator in this setup only gets a passing touch from the belt which I don't think will be efficient when under load?

My rangerover engine has a double crank pulley - the outer one feeding the waterpump. The inner one feeds the PAS the pas pump, which via another double pulley feeds the alternator. Has anyone fitted this into a stag please?

    Thanks

I've got a 3.9 which is currently out of the car which is undergoing a body refurb.
I originally had the double crank pulley which, looking from the front, one pulley track powered the alternator bolted on a custom bracket at the LH head and the water pump. The Stag power steering pump was on a custom bracket at the RH head driven off the other pulley track.
I'm changing this arrangement to a single 6v wide belt running the alternator, water pump and steering pump, The alternator again is on a custom bracket at the LH head and the power steering pump is changed to a Disco pump on a custom bracket again at the RH head.
My radiator which is slightly wider than the TV8 item sits straight up/down but my bodywork may have been slightly modified bt PO.
Use the flywheel and clutch from the 3.5, the 4x4 clutch is larger diameter and will probably foul the bellhousing, it did on mine.
No reason why you can't swap the front end from your 3.5 to the 3.9 and swap the crank pulley to the double. I went with the Serpentine front assembly original on my 3.9 because IMO the oil pump system is superior. My oil pressure sits at 40psi all the time apart from tickover when it drops to about 15psi. That is apparently good for the RV8.

The first engine i put in the Stag was a Rover 3.9 from a range rover. Mine had a double belt with a slimline pulley.
