Judith and I have just returned from a weeks Paragliding holiday in the French Alps based at a campsite on the shores of Lake Annecy (about an hour from Geneva)
Getting all the Paragliding and camping equipment in the Stag was a challenge. With no spare wheel I was able to get both my solo and tandem glider in the boot, the hood well was stuffed to the top with camping equipment and the rest occupied the rear seat. It all fitted reasonably well though performance was slightly blunted by the extra weight!
Wish I had realised earlier that the cigar lighter wasn't working as the Sat Nav expired on the M25, fortunately I had taken a map. Having got to the campsite and realised the interior lights were also not working I figured it must be a fuse.
Now I know what the battery control fuse actually feeds, thought it was something to do with the alternator, and a new fuse sorted the problem.
Interestingly we got lost more frequently on the way back with a working sat nav as on two occasions it said keep left or keep right when the arrow was pointing the opposite direction!
Considering the weather they have been having down there we did pretty well flying 4 days out of 6 with two flights being over 2 hours duration, all on the tandem.
A few piccies below, the boots in the flying shot being Judiths as we floated up and down the ridge.
Total mileage was 1672, using the sat nav I found my odometer under reads by 1.5% which considering the 3.45 diff fitted is very good, speedo reads a touch over throughout the range (about 2-3mph)
Total fuel used was 252.72 litres or 55.6 gallons which works out at a surprisingly good 30mpg considering most of the journey is motorway and toll roads and speeds were normally kept at 80+ mph (except in this country obviously officer)!
Greatest surprise was the seats were still comfortable even at the end of a 15 hour journey, more than can be said for any modern vehicle I have driven recently!
