    Interesting mod on eBay Stag

Interesting to me anyway, never seen an air feed like this before look closely below front plate.

    Item number 221525482060

    Any ideas on its origin?

I'd be concerned about why an otherwise standard Stag has scaffolding joining the front turrets to each other and the bulkhead.........

I would think it was a DIY job. A spoiler would probably be more effective in getting more air into the front.

TR6 spoiler would definitely look better.

This is clearly a front strut brace. I have seen them on a couple of stags and a few of them on sale on ebay. As for scaffolding its a bit thin I don't know what sort of (cowboy) builders you have used.

The front scope may be to divert air to an oil cooler.

                Bling

Other examples of bling are chromed wiper casings, servo casings, bonnet closers, plenty on display at last years NEC Classic show.

                  It looks gash imho,

Remove and pop it straight in the wheely bin

The strut braces, what is the point on a very standard looking car? I can understand it on bullz car when he eventually gets it going but otherwise it looks cheap and gets in the way for the inevitable top end overhaul

On a rivet counter note, rong number plates, will fail mot and possibly get unwanted attention from the rozzers. You might have thought they could get the back plate level

Seen a similar strut brace on Triumph 2000 - owner swore blind it made a difference.

Monarch sells a strut brace kit - either adjustable or non..

It is designed to add a little more strength across the turrets and stop any flexing - you'd have to fit one to find out the difference it makes (or ask Ian at Monarch) but it will do

I am sure it will make a difference but that flex has to go someplace, are you not just opening a can of worms for flex and agro elsewhere and on bits of the body / drivetrain not designed for such flex?

Does a standard stag really warrant strut bracing?

I know it's a strut brace. My concern would be what weaknesses it was hiding on a standard car.

BTW I'm also familiar with scaffolding as I am a qualified scaffold inspector, much to the annoyance of the cowboys employed to erect scaffolding around my house by the company who replaced our guttering and fascia boards.......

Any Stag will benefit from a strut brace, if you would notice the difference is another matter. Cars with a Macpherson strut will benefit even more than wish bone type. It shouldn't transmit flex elsewhere, it stops the flex or spreads the load, turret to turret. Imagine how the Stag would flex without the T bar, same sort of thing for the engine bay.

Thanks bullstarz, that's a rather simple and good explanation of what it's all about.
