    Electrical tap-in point in cabin

I'm fitting a Kenlowe fan in front of my rad and will have a manual switch under the dashboard which will switch the fan via a relay. I want to take the power to the switch from a location within the cabin that will go on/off with the ignition. Where is the easiest place to connect from causing the minimum taking apart of dashboard etc?
    Thanks
    Steve

Back of the fuse bank / block behind the parcel shelf.

Tip: take the fan power via a fuse from the battery or one of the brown wires near the front. Use heavy cable too.

yes I agree especially if the fan is to be thermostat controlled as well as a switch because the fan will run when the engine is stopped so will assist the engine to cool after a run-much like modern's do.
That's how I did mine-inline fuse straight off battery.

Thanks Steve. Any idea which wire is best to tap into?

Thanks V Mad. I intend to take the fan power direct from the battery as you suggest with a 30A in-line fuse, or should I use a lower rated fuse? The cabin power tap-in point is for the power to the fan switching solenoid.

There is usually a spare spade on the green wire circuit, but that is only live when ignition is on, otherwise use purple fused battery circuit.

I only want it to have power when the ignition is on anyway so the green one it is!
                Thanks

Why not have it so that it runs after the engine is switched off to reduce heat soak, as suggested in post #4?

                    Probably no help.
But not having a hard top, my electric fan switch overide is wired to the heated rear windscreen switch/knob.

Can be very dangerous when working on the car with the bonnet up unless there is some other means of disabling it easily.

Fan in front of rad not much chance of catching fingers with bonnet up.

As Glenn says. In addition, all decent modern fans (Kenlowe, Facit, etc.) come fitted with an enclosing cage so you cannot get your fingers in - unless you are really intent on hurting yourself.

I have run mine direct from the battery with a fuse inline
