    This cant be right

    when the car passed its MOT last week I was so eager to get out and drive it I totally ignored all the paper work that came with the MOT, now I have had time to calm down a bit I was reading the paper work and this is what I found .WP_20140822_002.jpg I think its running a bit leen

    I'd worry about an air leak or lean jetting. The very high HC reading means that it is so lean it is not capable of completing the combustion cycle before being ejected into the exhaust, so there is still unburnt fuel in the exhaust.

    High HC can also be caused by tight plug gaps, but not in this case I think. I would be concerned with your readings as if that continues across the Rev range you could burn through a piston so i would get it checked for air leaks, and then to a rolling road for testing/rejetting.

      Thanks for the help Russ In did have a look yesterday and you are right there was an air leak from the base plate between the carb and the block whether this is the main fault
      time will tell
