    Mk 1 dash brake waring light

    Good morning members I have a problem with my brake warning light I have change the original one whish are no longer available to one which I bought
    from Halfords,Only problem now is the light with not go out when I start up the reason I change it. after 40 years are more the dam thing had perished
    as any member come across this before, your comments will be most appreciated

    Hi Jim,

    Did it go out before you changed it?

    It is meant to come on dim to prove it works when the ignition is switched on, then go out when the engine starts. If it stays on bright, then the brake PDWA needs to be reset as the valve has been displaced.

      Hi Dave,no it was ok before I changed it.you say the brake PDWA needs to be reset how is this done also my I had the oil warning light as never worked .is there a
      connection because looking at the wiring diagram they seem to be connected am I right or wrong.
