I was looking at my front chrome today and saw that the bottom trim is held on by a screw at each end. Is this the norm. ?

I would imagine epoxy 2 part glue would work well too and be solid after 30 mins or so..
I bought a lower trim for mine and was told it was a top trim at the Huddersfield show a few weeks back (doh!), seen as though my lower trim was fine I decided to bite the bullet and cut 8" off one end and it fitted the top side perfectly! all I had to do was Dremmel off about 8mm of the inner lip edges so it slotted over the horse shoe nicely, you would never know it's the wrong part

The stuff they sell now is rubbish. It barely softened the top layer of paint on my Stag even leaving it covered in cling film all weekend.Attached FilesDave

Just been to a restorer and had a long and very interesting discussion. One of the subjects we touched on was reattaching trim, especially where it requires clips to hold it in place.
This person does drill the ends of the upper and lower trim strips underneath where it does not show and uses a stainless self tapping screw to fit the trim back and also to align it, no clips are used, the trim is filled with silicon sealant to keep water out.
