    Club Triumph RBRR

    Hi all

Not sure if this the right thing to do as it involves a "rival" club, but I know that quite a few of the members on here belong to CT as well.

Next month is the Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run - not sure how many SOC members are taking part, but I am and so is Steve JP. This time the charity being supported is MacMillan Cancer Support - a very worthwhile cause. If anyone would like to donate to this I shall try to attach a link to my Justgiving page.

Any donations will be very welcome.

    Thank you

    Richard

Are you going to the N & N on Thursday with you sponsor form, or is that old hat now? "May" even come to see you off on the Friday, I'll explain when I see you!

      Hi Ian

Not sure about Thursday yet - usual indecision at work regarding my programme! There's no sponsor form - it's all being done via Justgiving - but I can always take donations and then pay them into Justgiving myself.

If I'm there on Thursday I'll say something to everyone.

      Hopefully see you there.

          Bump

Any more takers? Many thanks to Ian F and also to Rodger from our local group for their donations. It's getting closer - less than a month now

            Bump again!

Nearly there now. Leaving for London tomorrow morning, start proper is scheduled for 6pm tomorrow evening, hopefully to return about the same time Sunday evening.

If anyone else would like to make a donation, we're raising money for MacMillan Cancer Support - a very worthwhile cause. The link to a webpage to make donations is in the 1st post on this thread.

            Thank you

            Richard

If anyone is interested in following the exploits of Richard, or any of the other Stags (like mine!), you can follow us on the Club Triumph RBR Message Diary at http://club.triumph.org.uk/cgi-bin/c...ent.cgi?pid=60 You do not need to be logged in

Please remember as Richard points out, we are raising money for Macmillan Nurses (now known as Macmillan Cancer Support) - as well as proving Triumph Cars are still capable of doing 2000 miles in 48 Hours!

That's fine, but the message diary works through three methods, normal SMS for when theres no 3G, MMS and email so its much easier than logging into a forum to post

                    Oops forgot the message diary!

I've sent 2 trial messages to it, but the 1 with a photo attached hasn't appeared yet - Mr Vodaphone is quite slow with those sometimes.

Here is the car stickered up

P.s. Ian, I managed to get some spare fuses today, thank you for the offer though.

Good to meet you on the run Richard, I didn't see you at the finish so hope you got there OK.

My Stag ran pretty much faultlessly, apart from the windscreen wipers that had a tendency to refuse to switch off when the rain stopped! Need to investigate why!

Just goes to show how well these cars can cope being run continuously for 48 hours, not sure about the driver though!

I was pleased to be in Didcot for the last sign-in stop. The sight - and sounds - of all those Triumphs made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Fantastic! I even took my Stag there (top down of course!) and parked it round the back out of the way...

                          Well done to everyone.

                          Cheers,
                          Mike.

Hi Steve. Glad you finished too.Good to meet you too at a wet and windy Edinburgh Airport. We did indeed finish, a bit late at 9pm, but got to the Plough ok. Snap with the wipers - sometimes not switching off. A mis-fire in the Highlands on the way back down South was the only other problem - changed the number 3 HT lead for a spare and that cured it

We both had a brilliant weekend and I can't wait for October 2016 I'm even thinking about the 10 CR next year if I can find someone else to do it with as Enzo can't.

Glad to see you made it Richard. I fancied doing this event but chickened out as ive only had the car 12mths - still learning. So well done.
What was the fuel bill then for the trip? And average mpg if you had time to work it out. Photos would be nice if you have any as well.
