Load of nonsense on that forum:
"All but one of the first 50 tested to destruction" - rubbish!
"Mk2 Stags from LF20001, Mk1 Stags had an LD code" - more nonsense, all Stags had an LD code or LE for Federal Stags. LF refers to engine numbers.
Clearly these guys haven't read any of the readily available literature......Dave

E reg Stag unlikely. The styling prototype was registered 6105KV. This was an old 2000 saloon converted by Michelotti in 1965. The first prototype was completed in October 1967 and may never have been road registered. I any case the F-suffix started on 1st August 1967.
The prototypes are recorded here: Prototypes.pdfDave

It did wear a D plate on the front for photo and 1325HP on the rear. Its real number is PVC237G com X777. It also had exhausts on both sides at the rear until Triumph modified it for the Swedish market as they only allowed exhausts to expel to there offside rear or left as we know it so pedestrians did not choke. Waste of time as no Stags were exported there officially. Dave
