    Fitting a walnut dash

I am 3/4 qtrs through fitting one of the walnut dash kits off e-bay. How do you remove the choke, fan and rear screen heater knobs so you can get the centre console piece mounted neatly.
Also, has anyone bought a kit which then needed a lot of trimming to fit the car?

you will find a small hole to the side of the knobs, insert small screwdriver/bradawl to push in the spring loaded pin,and pull it off
they do need quite a bit of fettling if I remember

never had to do any trimming on my kit, my choke was an all in one I had to pull the inners all the way out then refit them as the knob did not come off

I also had to fully remove the choke cables as I don't think the knob wasn't detachable. From memory the only trimming was a hole required for the map light on the Mk1 glovebox, but also a black marker pen is useful around the dials and screws if it doesn't line up 100% to stop the lighter original colour showing.
