Since the Goodwood Revival meeting inception the Triumph marque has been an outsider at Goodwood Revival meetings with MG seeming to be the preferred archetypal British sports car invited to attend instead.
After last years breakthrough which saw a couple of TR3s compete with average results (early in those cars developments, those same cars competing very well in this years Classic Le Mans) this year a brilliant result with a TR4 winning the Goodwood Fordwater Trophy race with another coming in 5th. Against some classy opposition which included Porsche 911s, Ginettas etc the well driven TR4 came from behind after an indifferent start and claimed the race and bragging rights for all Triumph owners.
Hopefully this progress is maintained and future Goodwood results shows the general public what the racing fraternity has acknowledged over the years and cements Triumph as a sporting marque to be reckoned with.
