So Ive been driving snotrocket around a bit , gathering confidence and this led me to do a 200 mile round trip to SE trimming for a new hood (which is excellent) The motorway journey did highlight how harsh the drive was though, something Ive thought since I owned her. I had put it down to "shes an old car" but my teeth were rattling after a couple of hundred miles.
Anyhow I was topping up the diff during a bit of minor servicing work when lo and behold I spotted an adjuster on a rear shock. After some cleaning it turnsout snotters has Gaz adjustable shocks. The right one was on totally maxed out , and the left er ......... wasn't.
So I wound them both back to minimum, then clicked in 10 clicks, a number I plucked from the sky, and went for a quick test.....
My goodness! These old Stags are quite plush really! So the moral to newbie owners (such as me) is see what youve got and assume nothing.
This brings me onto a question. Theres some front Gaz inserts thrown in the boot, but Im not sure if I have all the parts, and I am sure they are supposedly adjustable but I cant really see where. I cant say I have really noticed the front being either harsh or soft , so do you think I should bung them on and see what happens? Or just leave it?
As an aside it was fun to chat to a few stag types at the White Lion a couple of weeks back , although being a total sieve head I cant remember any names....
And as I was leaving I heard two guys talking
Guy one " That one looks a bit S**T"
Guy two " Sounds good though"
Is that a back handed compliment or a gentle insult. Im going with the latter I think. Maybe its time snotters got a cheap blowover. I dont want her immaculate, I like her character.
