    So.......
    Has anyone used Lee from ***********************
    . A company that lists on Ebay ???
    Seems to be yet another WTF typical great British company that NEVER 'effing rings back.........WTF

      It's like I've long claimed, most self-employed people would benefit from doing some proper telesales job a couple of years in order to get training in phone manners and learn how to respond to customer queries promptly and efficiently....

        I think time scale is the problem here. A company or person should call back but when is another question . I sometimes wish i could afford a secretary , cleaner , maid , tea maker . But all said and done i do most of it (well i dont make the tea that often )
        I go to see most jobs at the weekend saturdays and sundays the week then starts and its back to work. I try to be brief and ask the custmer to e mail the inquiry as sometime i,m half way up a roof .
        Its very frustrating but sometimes behind a company is a person with a life of his or her own and deserves time off . Being self employed is very rewarding but also very hard work .
        No excuses for constant bad comunication but a little understanding is sometimes called for.

          Hi Edd,

          You are of course right, I'm just surprised so few use automatic email responses and voicemail to let potential customers know when to expect a response. Not knowing when, if at all, to expect a response is what tends to irritate people the most. Any kind of sales is after all about setting customer expectations and then hopefully overachieving on them.

            It is just the same with some of our suppliers. I was prepared to spend a fair bit with a Midlands-based Stag specialist but their website shows 'Out-of-stock'. I emailed to find out when it was expected to be in stock and have had no reply in over a week. This isn't the first time with this supplier. Other suppliers respond without hesitation. Guess where my business goes..............

              Yep, dead right, let the customer know you have got the enquiry and give an idea of when to expect a reply.
              Most of this can be automatically sent.
              I for one understand that self employed workers are busy all day and then work like demons at night to catch up with new customers and enquiries but what I cannot handle is silence.

                hmmmm I think 3 weeks for first call and then other calls is wayyyyyyyy long enough. Them when he called today it was as if he had just heard from me and then it seemed as if (probably was ..) the first time he had read the note l sent with the packet. So l should say sorry, it was all my fault for entrusting you with my job............SORRY EDD, but na !!

                  I would be stressed after three weeks . I try to get names when needing a call back . Most building merchants never call back sometimes I have some big orders and it's makes me laugh .The first thing they say is who did you speak too if you have no name it's like your making it up . I was trying to stick up for most of the self employed who are very hard working sadly not all

                      Maybe some people just earn so much they don't need to chase all the business they can get!!
