been working on my brothers car today, fitted new window felt rubber channels, new ones fitted ok but getting the old ones out was hard work, also renew the outside rubber that fit in the chrome strip top of the door

put a hoes on the door and water is still pouring in when you look at the outside rubber is touches the glass at the ends but not in the middle of the door,so water is getting in there and coming out the door,there's no door curtain fitted ,could that be why water is getting inside the car ?

In one word, Yes

Some water will always get inside the doors, although maybe not as much as you're experiencing. However, that's what the water curtain is for - it is impermeable and so, if fitted, it should stop any water getting inside.

Ensure that it does extend BELOW the bottom of the door by 1/2" or so.

Hi Dave

You will never stop all the water getting into the door so a water curtain is important, also remember that it protrudes out from the bottom of the door card by about an inch. Also make sure the drain holes in the doors are clear this lets most of the water out.

I fitted new water curtains to the door frame and also a secondary curtain onto the door card as i wanted to go belt and bracer's.

On my US car the water curtain has a , what shall l call it......... a sort of skirt, that was added on the inside of the plastic sheet about the bottom of the hole/slot in the metal door height and hung over into the door. ( if you can picture that) so any water running down the curtain as directed into the door and out of the bottom slots.

didn't relies how important the door curtain was,ill try fitting one
