The Side Light's connected to the... Tail Light...?

Hi Gents,

I am trying to finally sort out my lights before losing even more daylight this coming weekend My problem is both the nearside sidelight and the nearside tail light have stopped working.

I have tried all the usual remedies - changing bulbs and fuses, bulb holders and cleaning all the connections - but to no avail. I have looked at the wiring diagram but cannot see a direct link between the two? Also, searching the forum brings up no results.

Does any one have any ideas/knowledge of this happening before, please?

When u say not working does the 10A fuse blow or just the lights not coming on?

Lights not coming on. Bulbs work fine when swapped to offside...Fuse checked and not being blown.

Jon. Try changing the bulb holder across as well. The earthing arrangement in them is awful. If that side then works, a replacement bulb holder may be needed.

Thanks for the advice - however I bought a new bulb holder and that did not work either. I have even tried running an extra earth wire - again, no good.

John. Fuse 7/8 supplies these two lamps, and also the panel lights, but by a separate lead from that fuse. If the panel lights are working, then that fuse must be ok, but maybe the lead that just feeds those two faulty lights has become detatched from that fuse box behind the parcel shelf.
