I'm planning to remove our hood next month when the hardtop goes back on, my intention over the winter is to rub is down, treat and repaint with Rustoleum.
It generally seems in good condition with only surface rusting but thinking ahead I want to get a new hood next spring and would like the frame tidied up. The current alignment seems good and I've never had any difficult putting up or down, so I want to keep it that way whilst it's off the vehicle ! I'm thinking that a brace between to 2 vehicle pivot points should be sufficient, provided I'm careful when opening & closing the frame off the vehicle (I intend removing the current hood whilst the frame is on the vehicle, to save any risk of distortion).
Depending on cost, I might instead consider powder coating in its dismantled state but strip back and paint all the pivot points areas instead, so keep the crucial dimensions there bang on.
Any further tips or suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks
