    2nd rant of the day

    Just read september issue.

What caught my eye was Enginuity open day and power challenge with the man in attendance. Great stuff a pro active stag specialist welcoming modified stags. This is what we modified want more of. Great was my enthusiasm until i read further.

Quote: This power challenge only applies to Triumph V8s not convereted stags.

When are you******going to accept truly modified Stags.

I despair we all know the cars short comings and we all know what the car is capable of, is it not about time you put away your prejudices.

I haven't got my mag yet, but a 'power challange' could be fun!

Why not have a seperate competition for Stag engines and Rover/other engines?

I suspect the approach is to try and compare like with like - in terms of the base power unit - think of it this way...... if it goes well they'll probably run another which may have multiple categories

I was thinking of going along to this.... not too far from me and could be a good laugh

I think it's more to do with the fact that Tony Hart doesn't like Rover engines, at least in Stags.

Apologies if I'm incorrect on that.

Andy - This was advertised at the National day and I thought of going, left it until last week to decide and e-mailed Mark @ enginuity to try and reserve a slot.

I fully expected it to be booked up as there are only 20 slots (time taken to set-up, tether and release/get ready for the next one as well as the run I expect?)

I was therefore surprised when I got a favourable response and I am planning to go - no aspirations of winning - just want to see if the Stag's in rude (or otherwise) health and have a look around?

              Mightsee you there?

How about a strees releaving burble in Samphire Hoe's tunnel. I wrote my tunnel first but that wasn't what i meant.

I am hoping to go for a few days via Eurotunnel to Northern France soon, so a little diversion might be called for!

Shaun, your video must be of the fastest pizza delivery with the carrier on the back.
Tony Hart has apparently refused a Rover engined Stag into his workshop for repairs when he had it -so I was told.

Tony also frowned on my 4-pot Weber, and my Jag brakes, and my Granada header tank, and.....,but I've still got a great deal of respect for him,and his knowledge about Stags; after all, he'sone of thefounding fathers of the SOC.

My understanding is that the limited amount of 'runs' available on the dynowas in danger ofgetting swamped by modified Stags, hence limiting the session to Triumph engines only. After all, Tony has developed a few hairy racing Stags in his time, so what are they if not modified?

I'll be there on the 11th.

                              Hi Bob

the carrier was a god send with how much camping gear we had, ( when we went to lemans, and the wife essentials of course).

Best week end we have had. The lads from Ireland triumph club made it all so special for us to the point we have joined their club and are off to the emerald isle the end of the month for a long week end. Plymouth to Holyhead then a day driving with lads from Dublin down to Wexford. Back to Dublin sat night. Club meeting on the sun and a drive out. Mon 0845 ferry back to holyhead then back to Plymouth, for aprox 2000.

Am i worried about the cars performance, overheating, losing oil, water pump failure, crank failure, timing chain stretch, ... well no. the car will be driven with the full amount of gusto the law will allow.

As far as your remark about the man, that attitude is what the soc stinks of. You can make politically correct statements all you like.

( refering to the member who now feels outraged , not you Bob)

I have experienced it first hand over the years where prominent members have favoured triumph v8 over mine.

No i will not go into detail, as i feel i may well have burnt two many bridges as it is.
