I have a Stag that is insured and MoT'd (but SORNd not taxed and is not exempted). For a variety of reasons (away overseas on business and showing dogs) it hasn't turned a wheel this year (and it isn't likely to!) However I'd like to get another years MoT on it (it runs out in December this year, so I'm planning ahead). So if I get more time next year I can play!
So, this is the question. If I take it for a fresh MoT before the old one has expired, as it is insured and has a current MoT I will need to tax it to take it on the road. However, if I wait until the old one has expired, then as long as I have an appointment at an MoT testing station, I can take it there whilst SORNd?
Is that other people's understanding?
Cheers
Peter
