    Seat belts

My '73 and '75 both have the belt with the two small receiver type not the stalk type. Are the later belts with the stalks interchangeable ???
Also my '73 has the roller type lap belt (US spec.) and the '75 had no rear belts (EU spec). Did they ever fit roller to the stag here ? (not aftermarket).

      Hi Malc,

There seems to have been at least three or four different style of front belts fitted. My 71-built Stag had a double receiver in the centre and the belt buckle was a single, narrow tongue. Later types also had a double receiver and the buckle had a 'D' shaped tongue. Some had individual receivers with warning light wiring, and some had the stalk type. Then there are the aftermarket Securon belts which have a stalk. Paddocks sell 'OE' seatbelts. I bought some of these to replace the Securon ones fitted by a PO to my 73-built Stag and find them much more comfortable, and they hang on the B-pillar hooks, which the Securon ones don't.

Ah, mine have the two wired receiver type with the B holes on the belt and warning switch in the passenger seats. Even though on the '75 it wasn't connected up to anything just cables under the carpet. ..... I have the new belts with the D holes but they don't work the warning circuit on the '73. So l'm looking at getting the originals rewebbed, but parts of the chrome bits need replacing. Also the '73 (Fed.) has britax retractable lapbelts coming through a slot in the side cubby. (Which l found that the new cubbies from Aldridge have, but are covered up).

That looks great. I'm thinking of getting mine done - where did you go for the reweb?

                  Cheers,

Just had my belts back from F.D.T.S ltd, they look great, There service was excellent, sent me samples of the colours available with my quote so I could get the best match.

Would recommend them, speak to Susan Taylor, info@fdts-seatbelts.co.uk

                        no connection, just great service
