Russ, The Vulcan was due to appear at the Shoreham Air Display a week ago ,but was cancelled due to undercarriage problems. It is due to give a display at the GoodwoodRevival on the 21st Sept, that is always a good day out, the only stumbling block is I believe £47 advance booking only on the Sunday:XChildren under 12 free.

Where is she taking off from?

I heard she was no longer based at Bruntingthorpe, due tocost of renting the necessary facilitiesfor take off / landing (that are not usually present there.)

I think I'll do Goodwood on the 21st now - I thought about seeing it at Silverstone on the 20th, but it's a lot further to go and what I lose on admission charges doing Goodwoodis made up by time/fuel saved and aggro from the kids in the back of the Stag reduced....

According to their website, if they don't get some regular cash soon they may have to close the hangar doors for good at the end of this season..... so see it while you can.

Hopefully someone here will be able to tell me what is going on - had the Vulcan go over here (Newbury, Berkshire) at not very high - heading south to north approx. 5.05pm - woke me up just in time to go home!!
Before that, we had a Spitfire doing circuits around the area - approx 3pm.
There must be something happening - but no idea what - any clues.

I seen it!

Went for a morning walk at Ecchinswell near Watership Down with some old pals. Ended up in the pub at Burghclere having driven there and back top down of course on such a lovely autumn day.

Coming out of the pub well fed and watered, stopped for a final natter in the car park, then over the village appeared the Vulcan fully in view for 30 seconds or so

Here you are Russ - sighting guaranteed. All you have to do is locate yourself on the Aldershot to Fleet Road at the end of the runway on Saturday and it should fly right over you

Urgent Announcement

Due to a brake unservicability problem XH558 will not be returning to Bruntingthorpe this weekend.

It will be 2 - 3 weeks before a replacement brakeis available and the aircraft will remain at Farnborough during these weeks .

At present it is still planned to hold the welcome home day on Sunday for those whowish to show their continued support and celebrate the end of a first year of flying.

A fuller statement will be made later today
