Well, Stagatha has gone (or will go on Saturday) to a new home. Though I will miss owning her on bright sunny days, I know it is the right time to pass the car on to someone else to enjoy. I'm an idiot with a spanner so the hours of fun that many of the folks on here derive from tinkering are lost on me. That reduces me to driving the car on the few days when the weather is right, I don't have any other demands on my time and I am not out of the country working. At the end of the day, that's just not enough days for me. I'd hate to see the car simply sit in a garage for 350+ days of the year. The new folks who have bought Stagatha will pick her up on Saturday. They are lovely people and have been looking for a Stag for some time. I am happy in the knowledge that I am passing on a great, sound car that will give them plenty of enjoyment. I've even put four new tires on since selling the car because it would not have been right to pass it on knowing they needed replacing.
So that's it. It's been great knowing you all via the forum, and a few of you in person. Thanks for the great advice, the selfless willingness to help and even give parts away for free (Julian, Graham...). I have tried to repay the favour by giving away a few bits and bobs as well. I've met some great forum members (and plan to sink a few more beers with them in the future regardless of my status as a Stag interloper) and have enjoyed being a part of this wonderful digital community. I need also to acknowledge Paul McLaughlin at Stag Classics for taking such great care of the car and enabling me to exploit every minute of enjoyment from it.
Good luck with your Stags ladies and gentlemen. May they never overheat and the sun always shine down on you.
