    Spoiler from the Bros.?

Can anyone tell me if the Front Spoiler on offer in the Bros. sale catalogue (page 13 ) listed at £72.50 is the TR6 version I've read about on this forum?

I like the idea of a more discreet spoiler, and it has been said that it fits and suits the car nicely with a little work.

Do any of you recommend this spoiler?

    Regards

Steve, I see LD Parts do a 'secret spoiler' - could this be what you're after?
I love deadlines - I like the whooshing sound they make as they pass by!

I fitted a Tr6 spolier to a friends car. It seems like it was made for the stag! Anyway, he was pleased with it, and I may fit one to mine one day.

        Hi Steve

I've posted about my spoiler a couple of times. It makes a huge difference to the cooling and as it's black it's quite discreet. Don't know if it's the same one you're referring to as I'm at work, but if I remember I'll have a look at the sales sheet this evening.

Blimey! If mine runs any cooler I'd have to fit one of these: http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/radiator-blinds.htm

I've always wondered why it's called a spoil er.

Thanks to all thusfar for advice, much appreciated.

I'm very pleased with how my mod.s (including the Electric EWP) are working out, but I'm not really seeking the 'look' of a modified car. However, there is just one little anomaly that I'd like to solve. My car runs just below 'N' on the hottest of days, all day long, until I go up a longish hill. Then the temp. climbs and I get all paranoic.

My thinking is that the angle of the car (in relation to the relative oncoming airflow) has changed when going uphill, meaning that more of the air taken in at the front is travelling upwards diagonally (as opposed to more normal horizonal flow on the level) and is then getting trapped under the Bonnet. I don't favour Bonnet Louvres, but I don't mind a reasonably small and Black spolier, adding one might make a suffciently large addition to the amount of air going in at the front to make it turbulent and thus partly reduce the heat bulid up under the Bonnet.

I guess it's a practical experiment really, Oh how I wish I still had the use of a Wind Tunnel! I could lean on people and cadge a favour, but it would be quicker and less troublesome to try the spoiler. In the scheme of things, £72.50 isn't that much to find out.

              Regards

I have just fitted a TR6 spoiler from Paddocks £48 and it is going to be painted the same colour when they re-spray the car. I had a secret spoiler fitted it has now passed on to another member as I found it made no difference in cooling whatsoever. Graham

                    Hi Steve,

I've a TR6 spolier from Moss, it does make a difference especially at higher speeds and it is a perfect fit on the Stag, made for it it would seem.
Dont know about the Rimmers one, its not original for sure but pending what pattern they took it from it may fit well or not.

                    Cheers!
                    Mike

I seem to remember someone posting recently that the brothers spoiler was a difficult fit which required a lot of fettling - might have been Neil (73stagman) or Steve (Stagdad) I can't remember which - all the posts I have seen about the TR6 spoiler have been favourable on fit
Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't

The one supplied by Moss is made from the same plastic as the original ones on TR's, Dolomits, Gt'6's etc and has exactly the correct profile to sit just under the air intake. Maybe BL were thinking about using it on the Stag too....

I think that it was the full deep spoiler that needed work done to fit snug.

                            Gosh,

Thanks to all for all the comments. Now looking doubtful the Bros. will get my hard earned....Please keep it coming as it's a good subject for everyone interested in the future, nice for the archive, not just me.

Ah, and Chris, yes, I do think too much. It never stops, buzzing away day and night with many a problem solved in my sleep. Got any idea how you turn it off (temporarily of course!)?

                            Regards
