      Cool!!

Is it designed for the RV8 or is some modding required?

Are you going to use a lower compression motor to avoid wrecking it?

What gain do you think it will give?

Its a universal unit so basically just get stuck in and make it work. It will be set up for 6 to 7 psi boost. So the standard compression ratio can be used.

Gain would be approx 60 bhp but with that wierd power surge that means from approx 3000 rpm you cant lean forward from the seat, just like the 924 turbo was like.

I have been wanting to do something like this forever so I have researched it pretty well. The main thing is watch the ignition timing cos advance is a KILLER.

So you get yourself a gizmo that retards as boost increases, as the charge in the cylinder is greater than usual it dosent take much of a spark to ignite it so a retarded spark in this case is good! The other thing is that fuel delivery is essential probably have to fit 12mm fuel lines!!!!!! just to make sure the beast has what it wants cos lean mixture means one thing.................Melted engine!

I want to see that set-up when its finished!

What capacity RV8 are you running and what BHP? I guess you're using injection with Mega-squirt or something similar?

No old school me... Blowing through an edelbrock 500 4bbl

This will be the first stage, I do have efi setup and if the mood takes me I might fit it. If so I might take the oportunity to blueprint the motor and up the boost a bit it can make up to 500 bhp apparently but my god!!!

I'm running the same set-up on a modified 3.9, currently running 255bhp and 9.75:1 compression ratio. The carb works very well; I think with re-jetting you should easily be able to fuel the S/C.

What capacity engine are you running? Is it much modified?

Snakey I am impressed that you and the non-slithering warm bodied people like you have the ability to fit something like this.

However, when I see some of the power outputs people get from somethese engines, I cant help wondering what the cars are like to drive.

My Stag has good but standard suspension and brakes and I dont think that the chassis is up to a lot more power. I dont doubt it can be made better but not as easily as adding the power.

Very well put Graham, too many people get carried away with "Horsepower Testosterone" and before you know it its all down to what your packin . I suppose its a "boy thing" ha ha.

Driveability is what its all about IMHO, I take for example the little fiat abarths, OSCA's and Alfa's as a role model for how a car should drive..

I look at the car in the round so a) good brakes, b) good roadholding then look at more power if it complements the package. I only see it as the sort of development the factory may have taken in a paralell universe after all !

Anyway I am glad you enjoy your car the way it is and I am glad I get to explore my fantasies with mine :shockbrace your self kylie....................)

Hi steve, Its a standard vitesse engine, 3.5 running 9.75:1 CR, as I said in a previous post fuel delivery is critical, so what the clever devils do is to fit a vacuum operated fuel regulator. So when it gets on the boost and whats more juice it allows more fuel through, this can be achieved by having an additional fuel pump which then kicks in when required.

A standard cam is a good start for charging as you dont want excessive valve overlap, as you will just be filling the exhaust system with charge...Vbad.

I do have an offenhuaser manifold fitted so it should fill nicely, another key to charging is a freeflow exhaust system so I may go for the cherry maxiflow silencer.

                      Wish me luck!

                      Cheerssssssssssssssssssssss

I see you have standard wheels ,does that mean you have standard drive train and suspension on the back?

                          Well helloooooooo.

That was taken 12 months ago, since then she has been up on the ramp, at the moment it is WIP; I have a replacement diff (BMW M535i) 3.07:1 LSD which I will be grafting in myself. Sort of Monarch/Brighton stags inspired so not the full BMW treatment as I dont think the car needs it. Wheels undecided at present but probably 16" maybe 17" but tastefull.
